About meI started as an industrial PhD student in September 2014 working on "Flight Route Generation" with Marco Chiarandini and Kim Skak Larsen as my supervisors. The project is in collaboration with the industrial partner Aviation Cloud. Flight routes are subject to many constraints such as fuel limitations, time restrictions, and traffic and weather conditions. Currently the most common approach is to find the routes by finding a 2D route first and then optimizing the vertical trajectory. The main goal of this project is find a feasible method to do it in 3D at once.
I have a bachelor's and master's degree in computer science. My masters thesis, which was done in collaboration with Jan Christensen, was called "European Football Placement Problems - Complexities and Exact Solutions". Some of the results were published and can be found here.
Teaching and other experienceWhile obtaining my bachelor's and master's degree I worked as a teaching assistant in two courses; Database Design, and Programming and Principles for Database Systems. Additionally I worked as a study group advisor for Computer Scientists on their first year. While studying for my PhD I have supervised in the First Year project at the Faculty of Science, SDU. I presented the first part of my Phd project "Resource Dependent Flight Trajectory Optimization" at EURO2015. A revised version of that work is currently in submission.
