Discreet Proofs for Secure Electronic Commerce

ABSTRACT

We present tools for ensuring privacy-protecting properties of electronic-commerce transactions. In particular, a new kind of cryptographic primitive called "discreet proof'' will be presented. This type of proof is "discreet" in the sense that it reveals no more than is strictly necessary for the purposes of a given transaction. Applications to Internet payment systems and Vickrey auctions will be discussed.
