Network Security: Project Topics

General::
The topic for your project must be approved by Joan Boyar by April 23, and you must have discussed the topic with her by April 18. Make an appointment to discuss this using the Doodle at: this link.
The topic must be something not covered thoroughly in lecture.
The end of every chapter in the textbook has a section called "Recommended Reading and Web Sites". There are many possible topics listed there, with references.
Chapters 9, 10, and 11 from Part 3 of the textbook will not be covered in lectures. These chapters (plus the recommended reading from them) are good topics, each chapter for more than one project.
Other possible topics include:
  1. Studies of specific attacks, including technical details, such as Stuxnet, Banktexeasy, or finding identical RSA moduli or moduli with common factors.
  2. Studies of specific security software.
