Teaching material:
The last mentioned notes cover the first chapter of a book by the two authors and contain some set theory and logical statements, needed for the course. Most of you have already seen this material in earlier courses. To refresh it I can recommend that you read the first 9 sections of these notes by yourselves. If needed we can go through some of it during the course.
If you have the time, you may try to do it in Latex as an extra exercise.
In all cases you will get an receipt that you have turned them in.
The written exam in MM508 will be held on January 8. from 10--14 in the rooms U28 and U30. Note that the schedule of the exam has changed compared with earlier years and this is because the exam is now digital so that you should come to the exam room one hour before in order to put up your equipment. I have now made it possible for you to have access to the internet all the time during the exam, but only through SDU's eduroam network and you are not allowed to use it to communicate with other people. I also doubt that you can use the internet to solve the exam problems. In the document The digital exam I have written some guidelines for the written digital exam in MM508. In the document rules and advices for the digital exam in MM508 you can find the university's general rules on the digital exam. These rules are general and not decided by me. Here you should in particular notice what happens if you do not turn in your exam answer as a pdf-file as required. The document also instructs you how to turn in your answers via SDU Assignment.
You will get the exam questions on paper in both a Danish and an English version and you can turn in your answer in any of these two languages.
Read the instructions carefully well before the exam so that you know what you have to do and know how the SDU Assignment works omn Blackboard. I will be in the examination room between 9 and 10 on the examination day.
