Ramakrishnan and Gehrke: Chapter 6, Section 7.5. Possibly parts of Chapters 8 and 9.

Exercises October 18

Exercises 19.1 (except questions 3 and 4), 19.2, 19.3, 19.7 (but in question (b), only consider whether the relation is in 3NF or BCNF), and 19.15 in Ramakrishnan and Gehrke.

Exercises October 25

Exercises 19.5 (in question (a), just determine whether the relation is in BCNF), 19.8 (in question (ii), just determine whether the relation is in BCNF), 19.13, 19.19, 19.20, and 19.27 in Ramakrishnan and Gehrke.
