Week 36:
We will discuss Chapter 6 on sequence alignment in the textbook. Please consider how to extend the dynamic programming scheme to handle gap open and gap extension penalties, using Equation (6.23) instead of Equation (6.22).
We will also discuss the introduction and section 3.1 of the handouts on Markov Models.
You should also look through Chapter 1 of the textbook. It may be useful to return to this chapter once in a while.
Week 37:
We will discuss Sections 3.2-3.4 and 3.6 in the handouts.
